As part of International Men’s Month, we’re excited to highlight five outstanding male allies whose dedication to diversity and inclusion has made a lasting impact on the gaming and esports community. From spearheading innovative projects to breaking barriers and fostering connection, these individuals have shown what it means to lead with purpose and compassion.
Their stories remind us that change isn’t achieved in isolation—it’s built through partnership and shared commitment. Let’s take a closer look at the incredible contributions of these allies.
Bryce Eldridge
Connecting Traditional Sports and Gaming Through Partnerships
Bryce Eldridge has been a trailblazer in merging the worlds of traditional sports and gaming. His leadership and dedication to fostering meaningful partnerships have created unforgettable experiences that bring communities together. Bryce’s efforts highlight the power of collaboration and innovation, as seen in these milestones:
- Brought MLSE’s first-ever gaming event to life at BMO Field in 2017, where over 200 TFC supporters came together to play FIFA17.
- Opened the iconic Scotiabank Arena and Toronto Raptors court/locker room to hundreds of gamers at the inaugural Bell Gaming Night in November 2023.
- Cultivated strong partnerships with Femme Gaming, working together on impactful initiatives that inspire and unite the gaming community, with exciting possibilities ahead.

Marcell Dee
Making a Difference Through Charity and Community
Marcell Dee is a shining example of how gaming can be a force for good. His achievements highlight his commitment to making an impact:
- Raised over $60,000 USD for charities through gaming initiatives.
- Runs one of Canada’s largest Twitch Community Meetups, fostering connections and growth.
- Launched A Gaming Podcast, a platform with a diverse cast discussing gaming culture and industry issues.

Lee Cramp
Building Bridges and Breaking Barriers
Lee Cramp has dedicated his career to fostering connection and inclusivity in gaming. His accomplishments include:
- Facilitated over 20 summits since 2019, championing inclusivity and diversity in gaming and esports.
- Awarded a Proclamation by the Commissioner of Clark County for contributions to esports.
- Integrated more than 15 non-endemic brands into the esports ecosystem through strategic partnerships.

Bernard Mafei
Leading with Vision and Purpose
Bernard Mafei is a pioneer in Canadian collegiate esports. His achievements include:
- Became the first Black Canadian to lead a collegiate esports program in August 2023, expanding Humber Polytechnic’s initiative to include five teams, over 50 students, and groundbreaking projects.
- Joined Esport Canada’s Board of Directors as Chair of Post-Secondary in August 2024, advocating for inclusivity and equity nationwide.
- Transitioned from a decorated Super Smash Bros. Melee competitor, ranked #1 in Canada and #51 globally, to a community advocate and esports leader.

Faisal Abu-Er-Rub
From Intern to Industry Leader
Faisal Abu-Er-Rub’s journey in esports is nothing short of remarkable. His achievements include:
- Elevated esports merch from fan gear to premium streetwear collections.
- Co-led three large-scale events in Toronto and spearheaded the 2024 CDL Major, proudly supporting Femme Gaming at these events to showcase inclusivity and diversity in the gaming space.
- Progressed from an intern in 2022 to a Marketing Manager and key contributor at OverActive Media.

Gaming and esports is a unique community that, although more accepting compared to others, still has gaps that need to be closed.
